• Feis Closing Date – April 14, 2010 (or when 1000 entry cap is reached)
• Late Entry Fee is $10.00 when dancer is entered after April 14, 2010.
• No Entries will be accepted after April 21, 2010.
• Absolutely no refunds of any fees.
• All Marks included with entry fees.
• Solo marks will be emailed shortly after the feis.
• Prelimary/Open Championships marks will be available following awards ceremony.
• Final Stage Schedule and the number entered in each competition will be posted

PRE-BEGINNER

Open to boys and girls under 6. Will dance one step one at a time.
Entry fee = $8.00 per dance.

BEGINNER

A competitor who has not taken Irish dancing lessons from a registered teacher prior to Sept. 1 of the previous year. A beginner must move into the Advanced Beginner category the next year. Dancers will dance two steps two at a time.

ADVANCED BEGINNER

NOVICE

A student who has won 1st, 2nd or 3rd as an Advanced Beginner. A novice who wins a 1st place will advance to the Open (Prizewinner) category in that particular dance. Only move in the dance you have won in. Dancers will dance two steps two at a time.

SODA BREAD COMPETITION

Entry must be received by 10:00 AM and will become property of the feis. Bread must be whole (not sliced) wrapped in plastic, labeled with name and school or phone number. The admission fee covers the entry fee.

Times will coincide with the appropriate dance levels. All competitions will be one step of the designated dance down the line.

PRELIMINARY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Approximate start time 8:45 AM

Open to those dancers who have placed first in Prizewinner Solo light dance (Reel or Slip Jig) and Heavy dance (Jig or Hornpipe). A dancer who wins two first place preliminary championships in one calendar year must move on to open championship the following year or as soon as the second win is achieved in any age category in the following years. First second or third place winners in open championship in the past two years must compete in open championship.

Dancers will perform:
A) Reel/Jig,   B) Reel/Hornpipe,  C) Slip Jig/Jig,  or  D) Slip Jig/Hornpipe.
Reel/Jig will be danced for 48 bars of music and Slip Jig/ Hornpipe will be danced for 40 bars of music. All dancing will be performed two competitors at a time.

ALL CHANGES MADE BY APRIL 21st WILL BE SUBJECT TO A $10.00 FEE.
Entry fee = $28.00.

Feis Rules (as per New England Region)

• The Gray School of Irish Dance, LLC and/or Bethel Middle School are not responsible
   for any loss or injury, which may occur the day of the Feis.
• Competitor numbers will be provided at the door.
• We suggest that small children who are not dancing be left at home as it is always a
   long day for them.
• No food or beverages may be brought into the school; however an assortment of
   refreshments will be on sale all day.

• Feis Closing Date – April 14, 2010 (or when 1000 entry cap is reached)

• Payment must be postmarked within 3 days of entry at FeisWeb.com. As a courtesy to fellow entrants, and to avoid deletion of your entry, please mail payment promptly.

DIRECTIONS

I-84 West (from Hartford) to Exit 9 (Brookfield). From exit ramp turn left on to Route 25. Turn right at traffic light on to Route 6 (Mt. Pleasant Road). Follow Route 6 to first traffic light (approx 1.2 mi). Turn left on to OLD HAWLEYVILLE ROAD and follow to 2nd stop sign. Turn right on to PLUMTREES ROAD. Follow Plumtrees Road to traffic light. Turn left at light on to Whittlesey Drive. Follow driveway, make 1st left. Go past Rockwell and Johnson Elementary Schools. BETHEL MIDDLE SCHOOL is the last school on the right.

I-84 East (from NY) to Exit 8. At light go straight (towards Robert Buick), bearing left, going toward Newtown. Turn right at Chase Bank on to PAYNE ROAD. Follow Payne Road to the very end. You will see a gray building on left (Plumtrees Grocery). Turn right at the stop sign, go over the small bridge, and take the immediate left on to WHITTLESEY DRIVE. Follow driveway, make 1st left. Go past Rockwell and Johnson Elementary Schools. BETHEL MIDDLE SCHOOL is the last school on the right.
